As part of an experienced international team, you will contribute to systems where security, reliability, data quality, and technical precision truly matter. We are looking for multiple experienced PostgreSQL Developers / Database Migration Specialists (f/m/d) to support a major migration project from SAP HANA to PostgreSQL. - Immediate start - Permanent full-time position - Location: Ottobrunn / Munich, Germany some days per month at customers‘ site in the south of Bavaria - On-site position - Salary range: €65,000 – €90,000 gross per year, depending on experience, security clearance status, and technical fit. *Deutsche Bewerber können ihre gesamten Unterlagen gerne in Deutsch einreichen* Your Role You will support a major database migration project from SAP HANA to PostgreSQL in a high-security IT environment. Your main responsibilities will include: - Analyze existing SAP HANA database structures, views, procedures, and SQLScript logic - Design and implement PostgreSQL schemas, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures - Support the migration of database logic from SAP HANA / SQLScript to PostgreSQL / PL/pgSQL - Develop and test migration scripts, data transformation logic, and validation routines - Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and PostgreSQL database performance - Document technical decisions and migration steps clearly and reliably Your Tech Stack & Experience You should bring solid experience in database development and migration projects, especially in several of the following areas: - Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience - PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, or comparable database-side programming - Database design, data modelling, schema development, and performance tuning - Data migration, ETL, transformation logic, and data validation - Linux-based environments and Git or comparable version control systems - Experience with reporting solutions, preferably based on open-source tools A strong plus would be experience with: - SAP HANA, SAP HANA SQL, SQLScript, calculation views, or generated SAP HANA views - Migration from SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or other enterprise databases to PostgreSQL - Proxmox or virtualized infrastructure environments - High-security, regulated, public-sector, aerospace, defense, or mission-critical IT environments What We Are Looking For We are looking for experienced database professionals who understand that migration is not only about moving data, but also about preserving logic, performance, reliability, and business-critical functionality. You are a good fit if you: - Have a strong database engineering mindset - Can analyze complex source systems and translate them into robust PostgreSQL solutions - Work carefully, independently, and with a strong sense of responsibility - Communicate clearly with technical stakeholders - Are willing to work on-site due to project security requirements - Are eligible to work in a high-security project environment Important notice! Due to the sensitive nature of the project, candidates must have citizenship of an EU or NATO member state and must hold a German extended security clearance Ü2.
