Stellenbeschreibung
The Max Planck Society is one of the leading research organizations in Europe. We offer challenging tasks with a high degree of personal responsibility and creative freedom in research laboratories, technical research and supply areas, workshops and administration.
Not only do we promote outstanding young researchers in the research institutes, we are also committed to supporting numerous vocational trainings.
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine is an international research institute that performs fundamental research in the field of biomedicine. Biomedicine is a modern, rapidly advancing and interdisciplinary research field that investigates topics of medical relevance with a combination of methods including molecular biology, genetics, proteomics, cell biology, and bioinformatics. Current research at the institute focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular basis of organ development and function as well as processes contributing to aging and onset of diseases such as cancer. The institute hosts a number of core facilities equipped with cutting edge technologies and currently provides central core facilities for mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, flow cytometry, mouse transgenesis and cryopreservation, advanced light microscopy, sequencing and bioinformatics.
The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, Germany, has an opening for a
Proteomics Core Facility Leader (m/f/d)
Starting immediately or upon agreement.
The Proteomics Core Facility offers comprehensive protein and peptide analyses using state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS mass spectrometry. The core supports projects including, but not limited to large-scale and comprehensive proteome profiling including mapping of protein modifications, protein interaction mapping, low-input and chemical proteomics and is assisted by a dedicated technician. The core facility provides services from sample preparation to data analysis and interpretation. The Proteomics Core is currently seeking a new Head and welcomes applications from proteomics experts around the globe.
You will lead the day-to-day operations of the platform, including scheduling, quality control, processing and analyses across label free, TMT, and SILAC-based proteomics and phosphoproteomics, and other MS-omics workflows
You will co-develop and implement new workflows and analysis methods to increase throughput, quality, quantitation and reproducibility
You maintain mass spectrometry instruments at the highest performance standards and manage service contracts as well as consumables.
You advise on and support the procurement of future equipment and contribute to grant applications for infrastructure funding.
You actively contribute to research projects, from experimental planning and data interpretation through to manuscript writing.
