Stellenbeschreibung

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES The What: Better engineering decisions start with better analysis. We are looking for an engineer to advance structural analysis capabilities by developing, validating, and improving methods, deepening understanding of structural behaviour, and sharing this knowledge across products and projects. The Why: You support product development by applying established methods while continuously improving them. This includes building FE models, interpreting structural behaviour, validating assumptions, and identifying better approaches. You do not only deliver results—you build engineering understanding and turn it into capabilities that strengthen future products and projects. You ensure: • High-quality structural analyses in product development while methods, models, and tools are continuously improved and validated • Early identification and open communication of uncertainties, limitations, and knowledge gaps before they impact decisions • Reliable delivery of commitments despite ambiguity and changing priorities, with strong ownership and initiative Your Mission Develop structural analysis methods: Build, validate, and improve methods, models, and tools that enhance quality, speed, and capability of structural analysis. High Performance – Raise the bar on analysis capability. Own delivery through ambiguity: Identify obstacles early, take initiative, and deliver reliably even without clear direction. Accountability – Own impact. No excuses. Surface risks and uncertainties early: Identify assumptions, limitations, and knowledge gaps and communicate them openly to support better engineering decisions. Candor – Truth improves engineering. Build cross-functional trust: Align with stakeholders, integrate perspectives, and commit once decisions are made. Impact comes from adoption. Togetherness – One team, aligned execution. Challenge and imp rove methods : Explore new approaches, tools, and ideas to strengthen future analysis capabilities and standards. Playfulness – Curiosity drives progress. YOUR PROFILE What You Bring • Deep understanding of composite materials, laminate mechanics, and failure mechanisms • Experience applying and improving structural analysis methods for composites • Strong engineering judgement to evaluate simulations and derive conclusions • Solid FEA and structural mechanics knowledge (load transfer, nonlinear behaviour, structural response) • Research mindset and curiosity about structural behaviour • Fluent English Nice to have: • Scripting/automation (Python, MATLAB) • Correlation of simulations with test data • HyperWorks or similar nonlinear FEA tools • German skills WHAT WE OFFER • High technical ownership: shape engineering methods and standards, not just apply them • Visible impact: work at the frontier of composite structures and see your analysis influence real hardware decisions • Startup mindset meets aerospace innovation: flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and room for your ideas • Your choice of benefit: Germany ticket,EgymWellpass, or a tax-free Give Card • Fresh shared lunches and a healthyteamculture • Stunning views of the Alps from ourTaufkirchenrooftop terrace About us Blackwave designs, manufactures and ships flight-qualified, commercial off-the-shelf composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and satellites. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company delivers COPVs from a standardized portfolio with flight heritage. The approach reduces lead time from months to days while ensuring that each tank is qualified and flight-ready. Blackwave's mission is to end COPV failure in spaceflight. The company employs more than 150 people across manufacturing facilities in Germany and Texas.More information at Blackwave.com and the procurement platform COPV.com.
