For our renowned client, a leading international corporation, we are looking for a Software Engineer (gn) AI This is what your day-to-day work will look like - Support the design, prototyping, and implementation of AI-enabled software components for Hilti’s software products and engineering workflows - Contribute to the development of backend services, APIs, integrations, and automation solutions that connect AI capabilities with product systems and internal engineering platforms - Assist in implementing, testing, and continuously improving best practices for API integration, tool usage, context management, prompt execution, observability, evaluation, and error handling within AI-enabled and agentic systems - Collaborate with architects, software engineers, and AI specialists to gain insights into integration patterns, data flows, service interfaces, and inference pipelines within cloud-native environments - Help shape the company´s evolving agentic AI ecosystem by developing reusable components and capabilities that enable interoperability, governance, scalability, and enterprise-level architecture standards - Support discovery activities to identify opportunities where AI technologies, tools, and processes can enhance developer productivity and optimize software delivery workflows - Work closely with domain experts and engineering teams to understand data requirements, system contexts, workflow needs, and quality criteria for effective AI-driven solutions - Prepare and communicate project progress, validation outcomes, and key learnings in a clear and structured way for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What makes you a great fit - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline - Initial hands-on experience in software engineering, automation, or digital product development through internships, working student positions, academic projects, or early professional roles - Practical programming experience with Python and/or other modern programming languages, along with a basic understanding of APIs, development tools, and AI-supported software engineering practices - First experience with generative AI and large language model (LLM) concepts, including prompt engineering, context management, agent-based systems, and AI evaluation approaches - Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including version control, testing methodologies, code quality standards, and CI/CD principles - Ability to understand business and engineering processes, translate challenges into structured software tasks, and contribute to practical AI-driven automation and productivity improvements Your benefits - Permanent employment contract with the opportunity for a long-term position at our partner company - Compensation based on the GVP collective agreement, with the possibility of additional above-agreement allowances, holiday and Christmas bonuses, as well as a company pension scheme - Employee referral bonus of up to € 400 through our "Refer a Friend" program - Convenient digital processes, including vacation requests and timesheet submissions via app, plus employee discounts at various online shops.
